The monthly AAIBO Membership Meeting was held at noon June 9th at Lytle Land and Cattle Company Restaurant. Thirty members heard local attorney/ CPA Phil Morehead discuss the Texas Margin Tax. County Commissioners met for three and a half hours Tuesday with 20 items on their agenda. There were several items of interest, however, the most important subject discussed was brought by a spokesman for ONCOR Electric. Dallas Cothram, representative for the company, told of the 866 miles of new electrical transmission lines that will traverse Taylor County. You will be interested to know that the Abilene City Council is aware that the proposed AEP Texas North Company's proposed Advanced Metering System will cost (YOU) the user money. The Council approved "Intervention" in the plan to install the new equipment. The P & Z Commission met at 1:30 May 4, 2009 in the Council Chambers at city Hall.
