About AAIBO

What is AAIBO?

Abilene Association of Independent Business Owners.

AAIBO provides Abilene’s independent business owners with accurate and relevant information, and a highly credible, respected voice in local government’s decision-making process.

Vision:

To Protect, Preserve and Promote the Interests of Small Business.

AAIBO sets its public policy positions by regularly polling all members and acting on their recommendations. Once information is broadcast and member surveys are tallied, AAIBO carries owner-generated data to the city and county government on behalf of business owners.

Who We Represent:

AAIBO represents small and independent business owners in Abilene and Taylor County. The membership includes professionals, retailers, service providers, manufacturers, and agriculture.

Many AAIBO members have five or fewer employees and have been in business more than 10 years. Members tend to have an interest in politics, and 95 percent of them vote in elections.

AAIBO does not formally represent non-profit groups or government entities, nor do they represent businesses with publicly traded stock, though we do welcome all such businesses as associate members. Our primary focus is small business at the heart of our local economy.

Small businesses create two-thirds of the new jobs in the United States. AAIBO members are proud to support Abilene and Taylor County with their own new employment opportunities.

Just as our local government needs the Abilene Association of Independent Business Owners, AAIBO needs your membership and active participation.

Your engagement in local government is essential for creating and preserving the best environment for local independent business, that is… for YOUR business!
